Enrolling your dog in a board and train program in Montebello is an exciting step towards better behavior and a stronger bond. To help your dog have the most successful and comfortable stay at our training camp, proper preparation is key. IQ Dog Training has put together a simple checklist of essential items to bring.
Checklist: What To Bring When Boarding Your Dog For Training

Your Dog's Diet: Pack Their Food
To prevent any dietary upset, we ask that you pack enough of your dog’s regular food for their entire stay. A dog's digestive system can be sensitive, and a sudden change in diet can lead to stomach issues. Keeping them on their normal food ensures they feel their best, which is crucial for a positive and effective training.

High-Value Rewards: Don't Forget Treats
Treats are a vital part of our training process, as we rely on positive reinforcement to build and reward good behavior. Please pack a bag of your dog’s favorite high-value treats. Using familiar rewards that we know your dog is motivated by can make the learning process at our dog training camp much faster, more effective, and more enjoyable.

Safety First: A Well-Fitting Collar
Your dog should arrive for their board and train wearing a well-fitting flat or martingale collar. The collar should be snug enough that it cannot accidentally slip over your dog’s head, but you should still be able to comfortably fit two fingers between the collar and their neck.

The Right Connection: A Slip Lead or Leash
A slip lead or leash is the primary tool our trainers use for walking and guiding dogs in a calm, controlled manner, especially during the initial transition period. Having your dog arrive with the right kind of lead allows our team to begin establishing clear communication from the moment you entrust them to our care.
