How it works

The AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program is a nationally recognized certification that demonstrates your dog’s ability to remain calm, well-mannered, and reliable in everyday situations.

This isn’t just about passing a test — it’s about creating a dog you can confidently take anywhere.

We start with a Readiness Evaluation to assess your dog’s current level and identify any gaps.

If your dog is ready, we can proceed with the official AKC test. If not, we’ll guide you on exactly what your dog needs to improve before testing.

Each step focuses on:

👉 Impulse control in real-world environments
👉 Leash manners and handling
👉 Confidence in public settings

Pricing:

Readiness Evaluation — $150
Assessment to determine if your dog is ready for the test and what needs improvement.
CGC Test — $75
Canine Good Citizen (foundational level)
CGCA Test — $75
Advanced level with more real-world expectations
CGCU Test — $75
Urban test focused on public environments
