POLICIES & REQUIREMENTS
REFUND & PAYMENT POLICY
All training programs are paid in full in advance unless a written payment plan has been approved by IQ Dog Training.
Refund Policy:
- Refund requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to a scheduled lesson.
- All refunds are issued at the sole discretion of IQ Dog Training.Purposeful socialization with other dogs
- A 20% administrative fee may be applied to all approved refunds.
- Equipment costs, travel fees, and payment processing fees may also be deducted from approved refunds.
Lesson Cancellations:
- Lessons canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may result in forfeited training time within the program.
- If a lesson is canceled the same day or without 24-hour notice, a new deposit or the cost of an evaluation may be required to schedule the next appointment.
Fully Paid Programs:
Clients who have paid their training program in full may reschedule appointments at any time, provided reasonable notice is given and scheduling availability allows.
Illness:
If you or your dog becomes sick, please notify us as soon as possible and we will assist with rescheduling when possible.
Training fees are considered earned upon the commencement of services and delivery of training instruction and materials.


Health & Vaccination Requirements
To maintain a safe and sanitary environment — especially for boarding dogs — the following documentation must be submitted before the first day of service.
Required Vaccinations:
- DHPP (Distemper/Parvo combination)
- Rabies
Strongly Recommended (Not Required):
- Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
- Leptospirosis
While Bordetella and Leptospirosis are not mandatory, they are strongly encouraged for boarding dogs to reduce risk of respiratory illness exposure.
Parasite-Free Requirement - Dogs must be:
- Recently dewormed OR
- Have a recent negative fecal test confirming they are parasite-free.
Dogs showing signs of contagious illness, parasites, or infection may not be admitted until cleared.

Board & Train Additional Requirements
Boarding environments require higher health and safety standards due to proximity with other dogs. These policies are in place to protect every dog in our care.
In addition to the above:
- Dogs must be medically stable and free of contagious illness at drop-off.
- All medications must be provided in original packaging with written dosage instructions.
- Owners must disclose any bite history, aggression concerns, escape behaviors, anxiety issues, or medical conditions prior to enrollment.
- Food must be provided for the duration of the stay unless otherwise arranged.
- Drop-off and pick-up times must be scheduled in advance.
- Early pick-up does not qualify for a partial refund.

Private Lessons Requirements
For optimal training results:
- Dogs should arrive hungry and ready to participate.
- Owners are responsible for practicing between sessions.
- A properly fitting kennel/crate and/or muzzle may be required depending on the dog’s behavior, temperament, or safety considerations.
Required Training Gear
Owners must have proper equipment for continued practice outside of scheduled sessions.
Required:
- Properly fitting standard dog collar

Strongly Recommended:

- Slip leash (recommended for structured handling and controlled transitions)
If a long line or slip leash is not yet owned, the trainer may provide one during the session; however, owners are expected to obtain proper equipment for continued work at home.
Certain dogs may require specific training tools assigned by the trainer based on behavior, temperament, or safety needs.
Any trainer-assigned equipment must be used as directed.
Training equipment must not be left on a dog unattended unless specifically instructed by the trainer.
All equipment must be used responsibly and according to trainer guidance.
